A Library of Information that Fits in Your Pocket!

Mercer County Library System is happy to introduce EBSCOHost Mobile and the EBSCOhost iPhone App to our patrons!

Thanks to the New Jersey State Library, Mercer County patrons have access to reliable, authoritative, and quality information resources, such as Business Source Premier, NoveList+, and other EBSCOhost databases, at their fingertips.

EBSCOhost Mobile

If you want to access these valuable resources using your Smartphone, iPhone, or iPad, you'll need a username and password for EBSCOhost Mobile. Visit the Reference Desk at any one of the Mercer County Library branches to ensure you get the proper login information. With the username and password in hand, you're ready to go!

• On your Smartphone, iPhone, or iPad, enter the address (http://m.ebscohost.com/) for the EBSCOhost Mobile site;
• Login with the username and password; and
• Start searching any of the statewide EBSCOhost databases.

EBSCOhost iPhone App

If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, you have the option to use the free EBSCOhost iPhone App. (Note: There is not an app specifically made for the iPad platform; however, the iPhone version *can* be used on the iPad.)

First, you'll need to get your device set up by downloading the free EBSCOhost iPhone App from the App Store. You can simply search ebscohost to locate the app in the App Store.

Second, you'll need to get the "key" to unlock the app. To do so, follow these steps:

• Access an EBSCOhost database (e.g., MasterFILE Premier) from the library's Electronic Resources website;
• Click on “New EBSCOhost iPhone/iPod Touch Application" (at the very bottom of the page);
• Enter your email address and click send;
• Once you've received the key, use your mobile device to navigate to the EBSCOhost iPhone App and touch "Try EBSCOhost as a guest;" and
• Enter the key into the app and away you go!
  

Again, take advantage of MCL's useful guide to assist you in using EBSCOhost iPhone App to its fullest capability. (Note: Currently the only available mobile app for EBSCOhost is for the iPhone. Apps for Droids and other Smartphones should be forthcoming. Keep an eye out for their releases.)

Whether you use EBSCOhost Mobile or the EBSCOhost iPhone App, you will have a library of information accessible to you in the palm of your hand in those times of need! Enjoy!
