Think Pink: October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, aside from skin cancer, and is the second leading cause of cancer death in women (after lung cancer). According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed among women in the United States this year. An estimated 39,520 women are expected to die from the disease in 2011 alone. Today, there are more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.
