Keep Up With MCLS With NextReads

The Mercer county Library System recently began a new campaign designed to keep our patrons up to date on the latest programs and collections offered at our branches.  New newsletters have been added to our popular NextReads eNewsletters, which patrons can subscribe to on our website.  The newsletters are free, you can subscribe or unsubscribe to any newsletter whenever you wish, and we never share your email address with anyone, so all you get is what you sign up for, no spam or sales pitches from outside vendors.

There are two types of newsletters, featured programs by branch and suggested titles in different genres for books, movies, audiobooks, and music.  If you want to get an idea of what type of information is included in each newsletter, we have back issues available on our archive page.

The featured program newsletters come out on the 20th of the month and spotlight programs that will take place at our branches in the following month.  Each branch has a newsletter, so sign up for your local branch or explore the system and sign up for a few or all of them.

The genre-based newsletters typical include a section on the newest titles in the genre, as well as a section featuring a topical reading list.  For example, the biography newsletter may feature people with birthdays this month or music biographies the month of the Grammy Awards.  Newsletters are available for all reading levels, even picture books for kids, plus tween and teen reads.  Our two newest genre newsletters feature graphic novels and graphic novels for kids.  If you prefer a more general newsletter, we also offer two weekly New York Times Bestseller list newsletter, a Popular Culture list, LibraryReads (a list of the top ten new books in libraries around the country), and our staff suggestions.

In addition to newsletters featuring books, we offer updates on the latest audiobooks, feature films in Hollywood Hits, Non-fiction and Documentary DVDs, Bollywood Films, Foreign Films and Music CDs.  Sign up today to catch the latest news and hottest titles at MCLS.

Don’t forget you can follow us on social media as well.  We publish news, fun facts, program information and photos to our Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest accounts.  Readers can also friend or follow us on GoodReads to see staff suggestions, featured books, and quotes.
