10 Movies Releasing in 2025

With the end of 2024 nigh, it’s time to look toward the future of the silver screen. In anticipation of the new year in film, the following are official details about 10 major movies releasing in 2025:

1. Dog Man (January 31st, 2025) directed by Peter Hastings

2. Captain America: Brave New World (February 14th, 2025) directed by Julius Onah

7. Superman (July 11th, 2025) directed by James Gunn

8. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25th, 2025) directed by Matt Shakman

9. Wicked: For Good (November 21st, 2025) directed by Jon M. Chu

Wicked: For Good is the sequel to Wicked (2024) and adapts the second half of the stage musical Wicked which is loosely based on the 1995 novel of the same name by author Gregory Maguire. The film will star Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum. No official synopsis for the film has been released by Universal Pictures as of this writing although it’s expected to follow Elphaba Thropp’s evolution into becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, originally depicted in author L. Frank Baum’s Oz novels.

10. Avatar: Fire and Ash (December 19th, 2025) directed by James Cameron

Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third installment in the Avatar franchise, following up on the events of Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Avatar (2009). The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet and many more. No official synopsis for the film has been released by 20th Century Studios just yet, but if prior entries in the franchise are any indication, Avatar: Fire and Ash is sure to be another financial and critical smash success at the movie theater.
